Today is the last day to pre-order Eros Inc. t-shirt! Thanks to everyone who’s already ordered one. They cost $15 (plus s/h) and would be printed on white American Apparel tshirts. If 10 more people order them, they’ll be printed!

If you buy it, I’ll throw in a “Fallen Madly in Like” print. Or if you already have one of those, let me know and I’ll hook you up with something else awesome.

This weekend was so sweet. We started recording the songs for Quail: The Song of Blackbird EP and holy crap they’re awesome. Chris Yule did the composing and he seriously outdid himself – we have some catchy songs on our hands. It’s also spawned a new Quail comic “ROPE” which I should have in time for TCAF.

We also saw “Paul” on Friday, which I really  really liked. It’s super nerdy, but I was laughing throughout.  Super recommend. We’re also almost caught up to Doctor Who – just one more season! Gosh it’s so good.

We watched the Fighter last night and I have to say I was massively underwhelmed. Really America? Best picture nominee? What the balls.

Rosemary

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I took Shannon to see Jane Eyre a few days ago. It was pretty good! I didn’t know the story, but it was beautifully shot and acted. Very well done. We also blasted through the rest of Doctor Who. We just finished Season four, and started Season five. I like the new Doctor (well, new to us), but I miss Tennent. He was just so quintessentially “The Doctor.” In any case, these new episodes are really well written.
I just booked my flight and hotel for TCAF! If any of you guys are living in Toronto or the Toronto area, come say hi!
We finished recording the Quail album last Saturday and are mixing it tomorrow. It’s super duper good you guys. Here’s the album cover:

I’m also finishing up a new Quail comic and the first printed issue of Eros Inc. Season Three #1 – which will have the first half of this chapter, as well as a NEW Eros Inc. B-story that will be splintered among the issues called “Internal Affairs.” Very excited!

Hey everyone!  Sorry about a lack of Friday comic, real life career-work reared its beautiful head and I had things to work on. Important things. In any case, here is a comic for you today.

In awesome news, our band, Gambel Covey, finished the Quail: Song of Blackbird EP album!  I’m super proud of it.  First of all, you can listen to the entire album for free over at the bandcamp for the project and download track two “Breath of Searing Gecko” FOR FREE. That’s my gift to you. Enjoy it, it’s a pretty song.

I’m also offering some limited bundles.

1. Digital album Bundle – You get a digital download of the 5-track album in the format of your choice, as well as a free downloadable PDF of “Quail: The Song of Blackbird EP” comic book for your computer or iPad. This only costs $5.

Hey everyone. Sorry about the brief silence. Things have really picked up around here. Big boy dream job moves steadily forward, AND I’ve also been prepping for my upcoming conventions!

If you’re living in the Anaheim area, you should come say hi at the Wizard World Anaheim comic convention on April 29th-May 2nd. I don’t think I’ll be there on Friday, but I will be there the rest of the weekend doing sketches and selling awesome new comics. Then, the weekend after, I’ll be at TCAF! I’m so excited, it’s my first East Coast show with Eros Inc. Please please please come say hi!

Oh hey, I have a new print fo’ sale. It’s a two sided one, with either “Fezzes are cool” or “Bow ties are cool.” They came out super awesome, despite this picture not doing it justice.

What else is going on… Oh, I went to Pittsburgh recently for a family reunion. It was nice seeing my awesome family and meeting my brand new nephew Lawson! He is very cute and a good baby in general.

Happy Friday everyone! We only have a few more comics until the end of this chapter. Really excited to get there, heeee.

Been playing Portal 2 A LOT. It is super fun. I’m up to Chapter 8, so I know I’m winding down to it, but man, if you like puzzles and laughing, pick this up. Worth every cent. I haven’t even started to do the co-op campaign!

I’ve been drawing a lot on my Tumblr! Here are some of the things I’ve been working on lately:

I attempted to color this with a new style – no lines. Not 100% happy with it, but it’s been fun to try!

Majora’s Mask is my favorite Zelda game.

I beat Pokemon White! Here is my team.

A gift for the super-gf Nan Lawson. She said I should open up commissions in this style. Does this sound interesting to you? They’d be super cheap and super sweet.


And last but not least, Marceline the Vampire Queen.

Union Part One

Union Part One

This comic was originally going to be longer, but I had a long day of work today so I didn’t get a chance to finish it. I figured half a comic is better than none at all.

This past weekend was crazy awesome. Friday, Shan and I saw Mumford and Sons with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes play in San Pedro. Super sweet awesome concert! Saturday was an errand day and Saturday night I saw Water for Elephants. If you follow me on Twitter, you know my review was as follows: “Water for Elephants was like The Notebook, but with an elephant instead of a notebook.” It wasn’t awful, just bland. Super mediocre. Sunday, we had a date day and went to the Aquarium of the Pacific and the Queen Mary. It was a lot of fun! We also finished watching Torchwood (Children of Earth was SUPER DEPRESSING but really great) and started watching Sherlock. It’s really great!

Don’t forget, I’ll be at the Anaheim Wizard World this weekend in Anaheim California. You have to come by and say hi! I don’t ask much.

Stwike!

Oh man, I had an absolute BLAST at Wizard World Anaheim this past weekend. For me personally, it was one of the better cons I’ve been to. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. Some people from Wizard World were kind enough to interview me/talk about my work! Craft in the City had some kind words for me, as well as the Comic Issues podcast (who also interviewed me, that should be showing up online soon). I sat next to Jennifer Donnell who is working on the comic “[Still] Afraid of the Dark” and was kind enough to interview me on her video podcast thingy.  I also had the chance to talk to Ben Costa, who does the freaking PHENOMENAL comic “Shi Long Pang, the Wandering Shaolin Monk.”

This weekend is TCAF (Toronto Comics and Art Festival) and I’ll be there! I’m located at table 209, and will have almost ALL my merchandise there! Quail comics and the album, Buttons, prints, Eros Inc. comics, I’ll have it. If you’re a fan of Eros Inc., come tell me and get a free print!
