Man, those Santa Ana winds, huh?
Welcome new readers! If you have no idea what’s going on, I recommend the beginning.
I’m taking the day off from my 9-5 and heading to Disneyland!
See you guys on Monday.

Hello new visitors! Confused? I’d recommend the beginning.
Joe Dunn and Phil Chan, who do the comic Matriculated (and Mr. Dunn does Joe Loves Crappy Movies), submitted a comic idea to the Platinum Studios’ Comic Book Challenge. Their comic idea, Biteworld, is absolutely fantastic – vampires, werewolves, a man who can cure them. Anyway, they need votes! If you wouldn’t mind going over there and doing a lil clicky clicky, they would appreciate it. They have the first three or four pages up over at the site. They’re already in the top 10 – it’s got some stiff competition and they need some help. So please, vote!
I got my first piece of guest art today from the incredible Yuko. I would like to share it with you.

It totally made my week! Thanks Yuko!
Great weekend. Saw Pineapple Express (LOVED IT), Menomena and Broken Social Scene play in the street (AWESOME) and also had time to hit the beach (RELAXING).
More fan art! This time from one Ren, a friend of mine whom also does the kid-centered nostalgia comic Kidspaced.
AWESOME! Thanks Ren!
Hey kids! Wanna swear in Hebrew? Today’s cuss is בן זונה , which is pronounced “ben zona.” This means “son of a bitch” or “son of a whore.” Two for the price of one! Thanks to “ACW” on pointing out the “son of a whore” part of it.
This comic actually the ends the chapter. I hope all was enjoyed. Tune in Friday to see the start of Chapter II. I’m midway through drawing the chapter and I think you guys should like it.
If you notice the top of the header, I added a new page, “Extras.” There you can find some of the fan art featured and very little else. But check it out! Maybe I’ll throw some of the guest art I’ve done for other people in there. We shall see.
I saw the movie “Towelhead” last night. If you’re unfamiliar, “Towelhead” is Alan Ball’s (of Six Feet Under and American Beauty fame) directorial debut. And it’s really, really, really good. Imagine a funnier “Welcome to the Dollhouse.” It’s clever, exceptionally well-written and really quite touching. If this film comes near you check it out. WARNING: NOT A DATE MOVIE THERES PEDOPHELIA
See you on Friday!
Well, here we are at Chapter II. I just finished scripting this arc, I think you guys’ll like it.
Have a lot of extra time this weekend? Looking for something to do? Well, it’s media recommendation time!
TV: Dexter Season 2: If you guys haven’t watched this show, you are seriously doing yourself a disservice. The first season was fantastic and the second one was even better. A beautifully scripted show.
MUSIC: The Dodos – Visiter: I want to say it’s Death Cab for Cutie mixed with Animal Collective with the faintest soupçon of Sufjan Stevens. A great album!
MOVIES: Rifftrax: Instead of wasting money at Disaster Movie (a film I can safely say NONE of you would do anyway), try out this gem. You rent a movie (or if you own it, even better) sync up with the commentary on your stereo and voila! Instant Mystery Science Theater 3000! And it’s damn funny. I know i’ve mentioned this a ton of times on various sites, but please, please check it out. I’d recommend any of the Harry Potter ones.
BOOKS: I just got the Scott Pilgrim Full Color Odds & Ends Vol. 1 in the mail. Really good. They even through in a sticker and postcard!
WEBCOMICS: The Abominable Charles Christopher: Funny, endearing, about a sasquatch. It’s a gag comic with a simple arc and between the art and writing, it’s really quite phenomenal. Updates Wednesdays.
Happy September! Or rather, Happy Labor Day! In either case, I hope everyone is getting a day off. We should get days off for the start of new months. Okay, I’m babbling.
The weekend has been good so far. Picked up some comics (Clumsy by Jeffrey Brown, Will You Still Love Me When I Wet The Bed? by Liz Prince and a local comic Stay Away From Other People by Lisa Hanawalt) saw Tropic Thunder with a friend and spent the entire night reminiscing about high school with said friend and Shannon. Great night.
See you guys on Wednesday.
These comics just get longer and longer.
A fair warning – I’m going through the archives and fixing a ton of the old comics. So some have brand spanking new, cleaner panels while others have the old school hand drawn kind. Just to keep in mind.
So I finally got myself a flickr account, which you can find here. The link will be kept on the right side of the page.
