I wasn't trying to be lazy - I wanted it to emulate one of those instant message conversations where the ambiguity is in the forefront. Showing their faces during the conversation would give it away, and that was something I didn't want. I see this as a potential turning point - David doesn't know that Mot was happy when she came home, he thought she was upset or ambivalent.
